The Green Tornado

I recently got into the green smoothie craze when I came across Simple Green Smoothies on Instagram. If you haven’t heard of them I suggest you check them out. They’re a wealth of information and answer every question you could ever have about… well, green smoothies! And – their pictures are AMAZING! It’s what initially caught my attention and led me to make my first green smoothie.

Buh-bye coffee, hello green smoothie!

Drinking spinach or kale or a mix of both everyday can become repetitive and since I like a variety of foods I will sometimes opt out of the greens. But to make sure I still get some sort of nutrients from the smoothies I always add Chia seeds, they’re a must!

Today’s recipe is my very first and favourite green smoothie on the blog called The Green Tornado! It’s full of spinach which we all know is a good source of potassium, iron and calcium as well as raspberries and a mix of superfoods.

Oh and if you’re wondering why the raspberries look like a blob in the picture, they were frozen and kind of all just stuck together so when I took them out of the freezer to thaw a bit they became a blob….but they still tasted delicious!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups 2% milk
2 cups spinach
1 cup raspberries, frozen
2 bananas
2 tbsp Qi’a Superfood blend (Chia, Buckwheat and Hemp)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
